The Lathrop Company was founded in 1895 in Toledo, Ohio as a contractor specializing in the building of fine homes as well as small civil and industrial projects.  More than 110 years later, we can look back at our successful past with pride and look ahead with confidence that our tradition will continue to build.

Through aggressive leadership and management, Lathrop began a growth trend that has carried its name and practices into many different locales and expanded technical fields.

The Lathrop Company has proven itself to be a progressive, competitive and versatile construction organization. Our versatility is expressed through the varied sized projects we build, ranging from small renovations to large and complex greenfield projects. Lathrop performs under contract arrangements tailored to meet the individual needs of our clients.

Green Building

Lathrop and its parent company, Turner Construction, are committed to the success and increased adoption of sustainable construction practices throughout the industry. As part of this effort, we train all new hires in the theory and practice of green building, emphasizing the LEED rating system. We believe Green buildings are not only good for the environment, they also provide immediate and long-term economic benefits for developers, building owners and occupants.

Lathrop and Turner have extensive experience across a wide variety of sustainable construction projects, enabling us to create a detailed databank of cost-effective Green materials, processes and suppliers to assist our clients. From our experience, the costs associated with these projects can be contained to a level comparable to traditionally constructed buildings. Turner has completed 80 LEED Certified projects and has completed or is currently working on more than 120 additional projects that are registered with the U. S. Green Building Council. Turner has completed or has under contract more than 300 projects with Green building elements.

In each of the past two years, Turner has doubled the number of LEED accredited professionals. Turner employs over 600 LEED Accredited Professionals.

As part of our commitment to have a positive impact on the communities we serve, we have launched a broad-based program of initiatives to promote sustainable development practices and to aggressively expand our capabilities and extend our leadership in this growing field.
