Company is adding 12,000 square feet for warehousing and manufacturing space

Tom Carter, president and chief operating officer for Toledo Ticket Company, a provider of ticketing solutions headquartered in Toledo, has personally purchased a partner company, Universal Bindery, Inc., which partners with area printers to offer custom bindery solutions.

“The coming together of these two companies is a natural fit,” commented Carter. “Our knowledge of the ticket printing industry – coupled with more diverse capabilities we can now offer through Universal to our existing customer base – makes us stronger and provides growth opportunities in new markets as well.”

To keep up with the increased demand for Toledo Ticket’s expanding range of products, growing portfolio, and service offerings, the company is also undergoing a 12,000 square foot facility expansion that will house Universal Bindery, as well as be used for warehousing and additional manufacturing space. The company will also be adding new equipment and software, which is expected to enhance its efficiency as well.

The expansion project began in July 2019 and is expected to be complete sometime in February. Lathrop, based in Toledo, is the general contractor for the project. Carter noted that the green construction design on the project incorporates a lot of natural light with a commitment to energy efficiency.

According to Carter, Toledo Ticket has grown and adapted to new technology over the years and is now a leading provider of ticketing solutions that are efficient, flexible, and keep businesses running smoothly. He noted that the company offers custom solutions that are the perfect fit for each customer’s unique needs including consecutive numbering, bar codes, magnetic stripes, multi-part valet, scratch-off tickets, pay and display, pay-by-space, access and debit cards, and spitter tickets for thermal / non-thermal revenue control.

“Toledo Ticket supplies a multitude of industries, including parking, athletic, colleges, universities, healthcare, municipalities, and sports venues with both stock and customized products and services with full-color printing, a range of colors and sizes, and exceptional turnaround time,” said Carter. “The company also specializes in RFID tags for college / university parking and credentials to improve security, convenience, and meet green mandates, all in a cost-effective manner.”

Universal Bindery, according to Carter, has been a Toledo mainstay since 1949, partnering with area printers to offer custom bindery solutions. From traditional saddle stitching to complex book binding, collating, fugitive gluing, automatic pocket folder assembly, full cutting and trimming capabilities – such as die-cutting and kiss cutting, folding, laminating, stringing, hand assembly, and unique custom projects – Universal is focused on helping clients deliver a better finished product.

With nearly 50 employees and multiple manufacturing plants and sales offices around the world, Toledo Ticket serves more than 6,500 parking facilities and 2,000 sports venues with its products. The company is certified by most parking equipment manufacturers and provides products in all 50 states and more than 30 countries.

Carter noted that Toledo Ticket’s commitment to focusing on individual clients and providing custom solutions that work best for their businesses, as well as a focus on satisfying customers with high-quality products at an affordable price, has helped the company’s growth and success over the years.
